For
Shimonoseki Port International Terminal Kampu Ferry offers daily service between Shimonoseki Port and Busan Port, Korea. It was inaugurated in 1970 as Japan's first international ferry line, and in 1998, "Hamayuu" was put into service. Furthermore, in 2002, a newly-built ship, "Seonghee" was added. In regard to its cargo transport service, with customs clearance available everyday throughout the year, goods from Korea to the Kanto or Kansai regions can be easily transported within two or three days. Thus the ferry is used as a very speedy mode of transportation.

Suzhou-Shimonoseki Ferry, connecting Shimonoseki Port and Taicang Port of Suzhou City, China, increased its operations to twice a week from October 2009. This service is well known for its punctuality, and is expected to see an increase in business due to the improved usability of cargo transportation services in Jiangsu Province related to changes made to the port operation system in January 2014.
